Giving someone a gift is a nice gesture, but giving someone a gift that also benefits a cause you care about is an even nicer gesture. At Trifunk, we always like to pass along some good gift ideas for the holidays and this year is no different.
Mashable posted their collection of “15 Holiday Gifts That Give Back” and so many items went directly from that list to our own wish list that we had to post our favourites:
“The fact that LSTN headphones are made out of reclaimed wood isn’t its only social good selling point; proceeds also go to the Starkey Hearing Foundation, helping others enjoy music for the first time.”
“Raven + Lily sells eco-friendly apparel, jewelry and home accessories made by marginalized women in developing nations. Purchasing one of the company’s items helps provide these women with sustainable income.
Among the various products is this honey oat and apricot soap gift set, hand-poured in northern India. You can learn more about how the set was made, and the specific woman who made it, on the website.”
“Brought to you by the co-founder of one-for-one glasses company Warby Parker, Harry’s sells sleek, German-engineered razors. The company donates 1% of sales and volunteers 1% of its team’s time to organizations, like its current partner City Year.”
Look familiar? We also posted about Harry’s in our Father’s Day Gift Guide!
“Seven Hopes United is a San Diego-based fair trade company that sells gifts made by artisans in developing countries. Proceeds go toward living wages and sustainable lifestyles. You can find eco-friendly accessories, jewelry and wares for every room in the house, such as a personalized cutting board (pictured, $46).”
“MiiR’s various lines of cutting-edge water bottles improve the hydrating experience. Whether it’s the BPA-free, stainless steel Classic or the vacuum-sealed, matte black Insulated, the purchase of a MiiR water bottle provides one person in the developing world with clean drinking water for one year.”
